Wow! There’s a lot of rice in the world. Which means there’s also a huge amount of rice-related waste in the form of leaves, husks and more. And now, coffee cups are being produced from this waste.
Cups are made of rice husk fibres (80%) and lignin starch (20%)

Global food standards agencies and health regulations including FDA, LFGB, SGS, ROHS, TUV and REACH have certified the products as safe, and the cups have been patented.
The cups are melamine-free and BPA-free, as well as fully decomposable. Composting takes around two to three years on a compost heap, and there are zero chemicals in the cups that can harm the natural environment.
The cups can be printed in full colour on all sides, depending on the desired branding or imagery.

This is made up of 80 percent of rice husk fiber and 20 percent of lignin starch. Inside this 20 percent starch there are not any harmful substances, no BPA and PP, no plasticizer, no melamine etc.. It is completely biodegradable. Plant starch is a kind of natural adhesive with high viscosity. In ancient time, people used it to build walls by binding it with soil. It is extremely strong. The only problem of this natural bonding material is that it was not suitable for soaking in water for a long time: it would decompose the adhesive structure finally..
But: through years of research there was success and technically overcome the adhesive structure problem. prolongs the soaking degradation reaction! At this moment it needs to soak in water at least 100 hours before the degradation sets in (and it will stop when taken out of the water). And again: the mixture does not contain any plasticizer or other harmful substances. The product is biodegradable, and regress to nature. The TUV degradation test report: DIN EN 13432:2000 and reports for foodsafety are available upon request.
The surface is derived from natural rice husk wax, after the high-temperature compression molding process, reflected in the surface and form the bright surface.
The glossy coated surface will fade and turn into a lighter color after a long period of usage but the function will not be affected.
